ZANJAN – 1 May 2026: Fourteen members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed and two others injured on Friday during an unexploded ordnance clearance operation in northwestern Iran, according to Iranian media.

The IRGC’s Ansar al-Mahdi unit in Zanjan province said demolition teams had entered a contaminated area to identify and neutralize unexploded munitions left over from recent airstrikes when a deadly explosion occurred.
